The Translators:

Daniel Mellis makes artist’s books and other text based art on such topics as the poetry of philosophy, the phenomenology of space, the built environment, and the law. Experimental letterpress and offset printing underpins much of his work. It has been shown internationally, including at the Gagosian Gallery in New York, and is in many collections nationwide, including Yale, Northwestern, the University of Chicago, the Cary Collection at RIT, the Newberry Library, and the Joan Flasch Collection at the School of the Art Institute.

Eugene Ostashevsky’s books of poetry include The Pirate Who Does Not Know the Value of Pi and The Life and Opinions of DJ Spinoza. He also translates Russian avant-garde literature. He is the winner of the International Poetry Prize of the City of Muenster, the Dorothea Schlegel Artist Residency at EXC2020 Temporal Communities (Berlin), the National Translation Award by the American Literary Translators Association, and other prizes. His poetry and translations have been published by New Directions (forthcoming), Northwestern University Press, the New York Review of Books, and Ugly Duckling Presse. He teaches at the Liberal Studies program at NYU.
